Notes: * Coal has been 19s 'at the Pool' [?of London]. Hopes WR has enough coal for the clamp [?brick making]. Oxen teams working . Brick making late, will delay building; Malt house at Fifield needs inspection. Fowle of Buckingham a tiler, he is better than Evans who tiled the Almeshouse 'reasonable well'. Whoever does it shall do it 'by the great and not by the day'. Old tiles re-used. A ferret house. Hay crop more than enough, some can be sold.

Notes: * enjoining him to only use oxen morning and evening when carrying stone, otherwise they will die. Original brick contract for 300,000 bricks, now brickmaker look like going before half done. Some bricks so bad can't even be used for garden wall 'nor in any place where the weather comes in both sides'. About building 'windows in the roof'
